For example “C:\Silent Hunter III” instead of “C:\Program Files\Silent Hunter III”. Does the game options give higher resolutions? If it does but the option does not stick it is possible that the game requires admin rights or installation to a non UAC protected folder. However for a 2005 game one would think that the game allowed larger than 1024x768 resolutions. You could try running the game with the options "Run in window", "Desktop work area" and "keep aspect ratio" enabled to simulate a fullscreen experience. If the game options is set to 1024x768 Dxwnd just stretches that image into a 1600x1200 window. Dxwnd can run the game in a 1600x1200 window but it does not actually affect the resolution at which the game is running.
